In September 2010, the "MAZ" company has presented a racing truck and racing team, which will participate in the rally-raid racing. The forst race for this truck will be "SILK WAY 2010". The racing truck is based on a serial MAZ-5309. The heart of the car is the 800 hp engine mady by Minsk Engine Factory. Enhanced braking system is designed to ensure a high level of safety. In addition, the developers have provided four-wheel drive transmission and a central tire inflation. All major components and units are domestically made. Financial support in the preparation of the team made by suppliers and partners of the Minsk Automobile Plant, as well as Russian dealers of MAZ.
