One of the first diesel truck MAN was low frame 4 ton model D1 with 90hp engine MAN D0540 designed for the transportation of large military units. Hood of the D1 model was higher than Z1, but shorter than F1H6/F2H6 models. The D1 had been producing since 1933 till 1938. The developments on petrol engines were stopped in 1932, when the next generation of diesel engines was presented. It was the engine with nozzle installed on the top of cone-shaped combustion chamber. These were well-balanced high-speed 6-cylinder engines with output of 60-150 hp at 2000 rpm. The truck range included 13 models (D1, F1, Z1, etc.) with payload from 3 tons. The Z1 model was the lightest (payload 3 ton). It was produced from 1933 to 1937. In last years the Z1 was made only with a half of windshield. Engine is MAN D0530 with output of 70-75 hp. F1H6 (1930-1932) had payload 5 tons, engine MAN D2086 with output of 100 hp and 4-speed gearbox ZF. Maximum speed was 40 km/h. Later model F2H6 was producing.
