The heaviest truck at that time in the MAN range was the F4 model. In fact, payload of the truck was 8 tons, but the laws of the German Reich limited payload at the 6.5 tons level. F4 was equipped with a six-cylinder diesel engine MAN D3555 with output of 150 hp and 4- or 5-speed gearbox ZF. Maximum speed was 54 km/h (4-speed) or 66 km/h (5-speed).Totally 1325 trucks were produced. F4 model had been producing from 1936 to 1939. In 1939 the updated model was presented with the name F5 and new G-series engine with the same output (MAN D3555 G). The trucks received new cabs with smooth contours. Official payload for this model was 8-9 tons. F5 had been producing since 1939 to 1942.
