With renaming of Chrysler Kamyon Imalat to Askam, the model AS250 was started to produce under the name Askam DeSoto AS250 D with a 4-liter turbodiesel Deutz engine with 100 hp. Maximum speed of the truck with this engine is 108 km/h. There are four-wheel drive version produced with the name AS250 WD. The new version also features a modified grille with 4 headlights.
