After the discontinuance of production of the Mack F-series, an upgraded version the FM was produced during 3 years. It differed by shifted back front axle, which improved maneuverability and weight distribution. Mack tried to sell this model in Europe, but it did not became popular because of archaic construction. The trucks were available only with sleeper cab (BBC=50.5') and equipped with diesel Mack Maxudyne engines with an output of 202-306 hp. There was a version with a high roof. The FM range was available in the next versions: FM711, FM712, FM767, FM785, FM786. Totally 647 trucks all modifications were made.
