Mack » F-series
In 1962, the next long-haul cabover model was presented - the most popular and extensive range F. The trucks were offered with two different types of cabin - daycab (BBC=50') and sleeper cab (BBC=86'). F range was equipped with a wide range of engines - Mack's Maxidyne and Thermodyne at 260-375 hp, Cummins - 250-350 hp, Detroit Diesel - 270-430 hp and Caterpillar - 325 hp. Transmissions Mack Maxitorque 5- and 10-speed and Fuller 9- and 15-speed. The trucks were offered in several types of cabin paint, as well as many chrome options. There were versions with a steel (FS) and aluminum (FL) frame, 2- and 3-axle chassis and truck tractors (T). Totally 13,826 F600 range were made (version F607, F609, F611, F615, F685), about 45000 F700 range (F707, F709, F711, F712, F715, F719, F723, F726, F731, F733, F735, F737, F739, F741 , F743, F745, F749, F759, F761, F763, F765, F767, F769, F773, F785, F786, F795, F797), 52 trucks of F800 range (F819, F885, F895, F897) and 72 trucks of F900 range (F985 , F995, F997). A modified FR model was produced in Australia.
