Baeten » Mobile Shops / Durba
Back in the mid-60s, Baeten began manufacturing mobile shops on French-made cargo chassis with bodies made of polyester. The design allowed to tilt up body sections on the right side (in some modifications the passenger door was saved), transforming the van into a spacious mobile booth.
Baeten used Citroen, Peugeot, Renault or Saviem chassis with gasoline or diesel engines with a capacity of 52 to 85 horsepower.
The design of mobile shops was not changed in almost 20 years. One of the latest models was "Durba". It was based on the chassis of the French van Peugeot J9 with a gasoline or diesel engine. It was offered in several versions with a length of 5.5 to 8 meters and a total mass of 3.5 to 4.8 tonnes. The width is 2200 mm, the height is 2500 mm. Interestingly, there were also a triaxial version of the mobile shops.
