Hackney » U.S. Postal Service prototype
In 2017, the US Postal Service announced a tender for a new van to replace the current Grumman LLV. The prototypes were prepared by Karsan, Oshkosh, AM General, Utilimaster, Mahindra and VT Hackney. The prototype from VT Hackney looks pretty fresh and original.
The VT Hackney van is being developed with Workhorse which is known for its electric commercial vehicles. Apparently, Workhorse probably have created a hybrid power plant for VT Hackney's van.
Despite the fact that the prototype from the VT Hackney looks pretty goofy, it really attracts attention. It is equipped with large rubber bumpers and plastic fenders. The US postal service logo was placed not only on the body, but also on the grille like the badge. Naturally, it has sliding doors and a roll-top rear hatch for easy ingress and egress even in tight spots.
