Oshkosh » FMTV A2
In 2018, Oshkosh Defense sign a 7-year contract and started the supply of the new generation FMTV A2 trucks to the US Army. The total amount of the contract is 476 million US dollars.
At the moment we known that this will be a full lineup of trucks – about 16 models with a payload of 3 to 10 tons. They will get a strengthened suspension, better handling and will become more mobile. The trucks will also receive increased armor protection of the bottom. FMTV A2 will have more powerful turbo-diesel engines, more powerful generators, 24V electric system, and the optimized suspension.
The main difference from the FMTV range is a classic layoute instead of a "cabin-over-engine." This should further enhance the protection of the crew during the blasting.
