DAF » YAZ 2300

DAF YAZ-2300 is a military truck range with a loading capacity of 10 tons and wheelbase of 4850 mm. The truck is used for general transportation, including ammunition, but there are several variants for special purposes.

This 6x6 truck is fitted with a 6-cylinder turbocharged diesel DAF DHS825 engine with a volume of 8250 cc and power of 184 kW (245 hp). All versions got a F218 cab which can be tilted by 60 degrees. The loading area is made of aluminum and most vehicles are fitted with a crane.

20 copies of DAF YAZ-2300 were fitted with an add-on cab armour enclosure. This protective module was designed and produced in five weeks time. Another versions: YAL-2300 — flatbed with a crane (14 copies were made), YAM-2300 — the special version for the Royal Netherlands Navy (recognizable by roof rack and box behind right front wheel for the coolant preheater), YAO-2300 — training vehicle, YAW-2300 — with a crane, for water transportation, YCZ-2300 — chassis for a mobile beam connection station (MSVSN) KL / MRC-2500 (40 copies were made), YFZ-2300 — tanker for 12,000 liters of fuel (14 copies were made), YMZ-2300 — with a crane for MLRS, YVZ-2300 — chassis for mobile drinking water installation, YBZ-2300 — military wrecker with a HIAB 2070 ALK crane (6 copies were made), YSZ-2300 — chassis for a beam connection unit (SVE) for the Patriot air defense system, YTZ-2300 — tractor with a GCVW up to 100 tonnes.
