In 1983, DAF began deliveries trucks of the new generation Y-2300. The wide range included 2- and 3-axle models with a wheelbase from 3600 to 5350 mm.
The range of tractors with a wheelbase of 3600 mm includes the base model YTV 2300. This 4x4 tractor is intended to transport different military equipment and vehicles. Overall dimensions — 6095x2500x3020 mm. Cubr weight — 7080 kg. It can work in combinations with payload up to 40 tonnes. The tractor is fitted with a 6-cylinder DAF DHS82 engine with volume of 8250 cc and power of 184 kW (247 hp). 433 copies were made.
In 1994, 80 DAF YTV 2300 tractors were transformed to YTH 2300 fitted with PTOs to drive trailers units, such as Rotzler HZ090 10-ton winches on Broshuis E-2130/27 trailer.
