In 1992, an updated version C501 was presented, which was fully designed in Australia. The truck gets a new front in the style of other Australian Kenworth. Nevertheless, the model C500 and C501 are produced in parallel until 2008. In 2008, the producing of C500 was stopped, but C501 was updated. It receives new Caterpillar C15 ACERT and Cummins Segnature EGR engines with power up to 625 hp. The cooling system was updated too. In 2010 the truck received the index С509. It is equipped with a Cummins ISX EGR or Signature EGR engines with output up to 615 hp, which meet the ADR 80/03 requirements and some changes in the interior.
