Badger » 444 / 460 / 666 / 670 / 888 Hydro-Scopic
In the 1980-2000s, Badger Equipment Co. made the model range of telescopic excavators based on 2- and 3-axle chassis with simple one place cabins. The lineup included: 444 Hydro-Scopic, 460 Hydro-Scopic, 666 Hydro-Scopic, 670 Hydro-Scopic and 888 Hydro-Scopic. The models differed by payload and boom length. Wheel configuration options are 4x4, 6x4 and 6x6.
Only when you've seen Hydro-Scopic operate can you fully appreciate how its rapid, versatile actions pay big dividends in total yards moved per hour. Imagine the productivity of an excavator that provides five working functions: the boom hoist and telescopes, the excavator swings and the bucket tilts and curls. All these operations can occur simultaneously, even while the carrier is in motion, under full control from the excavator cab.
Early versions were equipped with Detroit Diesel engines, later — Cummins ISB280 (280hp) or ISC-300 (300hp). Gearbox — Allison or Eaton, 10-speed manual. Front axle — Rockwell or Fabco, rear — Eaton. The upperstructure engine is Cummins QSB4.5-Tier 3 (140 hp). Early versions were fitted with Detroit Diesel upperstructure engine.
