In 1983, AVIC ChangZheng company began producing of a new heavy-duty range 长征特种底盘系列 (Long Season Special) which used Czech Tatra technologies. In fact, it was a local version of the famous Tatra T815 with a spinal frame and torsion suspension. Pay attention to the position of the rear wheels.

The heart of the trucks is a 6-cylinder inline diesel engine Weichai WP10 with a capacity of 9726 cc and power 300-375 hp. Gearbox is 9- or 12-speed manual. Chassis configuration — 4x4, 6x6 and 8x8.

The Long March trucks are fitted with simply angular cabins from the 1980s. They are used by a number of other Chinese manufacturers of commercial vehicles. More modern cabins are available as an option. Since 2016, all trucks are equipped with engines which meet Chinese Level 5 ecological standards.
