Scania » S580T / S730T
Vlastuin Truck Company from Renswoude built its reputation for building torpedo trucks in recent years. A black S730 Highline with an extra long wheelbase formed the basis for this ambitious project — bonneted Scania S730T. It all started with a design. The big challenge was the new nose.
The new Scania S730T is based on the original chassis. As a result, technically, nothing has changed. The underright protection, headlights and even the radar for the ACC and the Collision Warning stayed where they were. By also taking the original Scania S-series grille, the engine cooling is also guaranteed. However, a lot of action was taken, and the biggest challenge was the nose. Vlastuin decided that the original grille would be sizable and the line of the cabin should be as straight as possible. That resulted in a sturdy nose that goes smoothly into the cabin.
There is a lot more to do with the conversion than just putting the cabin to the rear and a nose to the front. For example, the doors and panels had to be adjusted. Vlastuin used the original anti-slip steps but placed it in completely self-designed reinforced polyester panels. The side fenders are very smooth. The rear wall of the cabin is completely made of aluminum, but polyester will be used for series production. The first Scania S730T has already been sold to Denmark.
The second built truck was ordered by Poulsenbiler.com from Danmark and finished at the end of 2017. The white truck is a S580T model.
