The only special version in the 537 range developed to mount missile systems was MAZ 537B chassis. In 1961, an SPU 2P20 prototyped missle system with an additional control cabin and rear hinged supports was mounted on this chassis. In comparative tests of different systems showed advantages of a caterpillar based missle complex ISU-152. Visually MAZ-537B can be distinguished by a lower height of the engine compartment.
