ZIL » 135LN
The latest attempt to use an extensive experience in design of four-axles vehicles was the most original and largest three-piece active combination ZIL-135KP (24x24 wheel configuration), which was supposed to use to deliver of huge off-road equipment and weapons.
9-ton commercial chassis ZIL-135LN with a suspension of front and rear axles was used as a leading tractor in this combination. It was assembled in November 1962 based on ZIL-135K chassis. Its angular cabin was replaced with a rounded fiberglass car from ZIL-135L. Successful tests of ZIL 135LN in 1965, did not lead to getting of large orders from gas and oil companies. That's why in summer 1969 the chassis was equipped with a spacious metal body with a back door. Inside there was a special laboratory equipment and workplace for staff.
