NAMI » 076 'Ermak'
In 1963, NAMI created a unique 25-ton AWD vehicle NAMI-076 'Ermak' (6x6), which became the pride of the Soviet automobile industry. It combined functions of a heavy logging tractor and special army chassis. The prototype had a classic layout with a doublerear bogie, large wheels with offroad tires and a moved forvard cabin with three-section windshield.
NAMI-076 'Ermak' was equipped with a V12 engine from a tank rated at 320 hp, 3-speed hydromechanical gearbox and a 2-speed transfer gearbox with an asymmetrical interaxle lockable differential. It also had a power steering and tires pressure control system. At first, the braking system had ventilated discs with water cooling, but then they were replaced by traditional drums.
'Ermak' dimensions were quite impressive - 10750x3000x2950. Wheelbase - 5700 mm, ground clearance - 570 mm. Curb weight - 21 tonnes, GVW - 47 tonnes. Maximum speed - 65 kph. The prototype had been tested since 1965 to 1968 as a single version or as part of a 45-tonne logging combination with a GCVW 70 - 75 tonnes, but production base for its serial production was not found.
