6x6 tractor Kraz-E6440 was made based on KrAZ-260D tractor with an active trailer. It was equipped with a multi-fuel diesel YaMZ 8425 rated at 360 hp. The first prototype of the third generation was sent to factory test and called KrAZ-3E6440. Fifth wheel maximum load capacity was 9.2 tonnes. It was a part of the active 35-ton combination 3E6010 with a 2-axial semitrailer chassis KrAZ-9382.
