GAZ » 33
In 1963-1964, at the same time with the presentation of GAZ-34, the factory developed one more rare for its specialization prototype of a 7-tonne bonneted truck with rear-wheel drive and the index GAZ-33. It was equipped with a 140 hp GAZ-41 V8 engine borrowed from a wheeled armored vehicle BRDM-2. Basic units were taken from GAZ-53 truck, which got an extended bonnet and new fenders, as well as an elongated wooden flatbed platform. Factory tests finished in 1966, but another two factories had already started mass production of such vehicles: Kamaz-5320 and ZIL-133. Because of this, GAZ-33 project was canceled.
