Autocar Introduced their new ACMD Xpert in 2012 to the vocational truck marketplace in Class 7 & Baby 8 GVWR configurations. The new model is offering with Cummins ISL9 (260-300 hp), ISB (200-260 hp) and ISL-G (250-300 hp) engines with Allison 2500, 3000 or 3500RDS automatic transmissions in 6 speed format. FAWR in 12, 13.2, 14.6 and 16,000 lbs. ratings with steel leaf springs. Single rear axle ratings range from 21, 23, 26 & 30,000 lbs. Air ride rear suspension are available in 21, 23 & 26K ratings. Otherwise, steel leaf spring is standard.
Autocar introduced also ACMD64 with tandem rear drive axle configurations, rated in 40 & 46,000 lbs. with Hendrickson HMX or PAX-EX air ride suspensions. The ACMD is built like a HD Class 8 chassis, with formed "C" channel rails measuring 10" tall x .38" thick, with a .25" frame liner available where required. Various wheelbase, A/F and exhaust after treatment treatment locations are available in either LH Vertical, or RH horizontal rail mounted.
The ACMD-Xpert tilt cab is even more spacious than ACX in 2 or 3 person seating configurations. Dual drive versions available as an option. The ACMD-Xpert is a perfect choice for truck mounted line pump, and even mid-size boom pumps up to 32 - 34M depending on configuration & overall weight. The Xpert is a moderatley priced chassis with a medium duty, 9 liter drivetrain and transmission, where more costly 12 liter engines and heavy duty transmissions are not required to do the job.
