In 1972, the model range of White company included Road Xpeditor with cabover layoute, designed for installation of special bodies (construction, waste bodies, fire engines, etc.). In the mid 70s there was an upgraded model called Road Xpeditor 2 with a modern cabin.

In 1980, Volvo acquired the White Motor Company. After this the trucks received a diagonal strip on the grille as a reminder about the new owner. They were still sold under the brand name White. In 1987 Volvo purchases GMC's heavy truck business and merged it with White, creating the White-GMC brand. Since 1988, this model was called WhiteGMC Xpeditor.

The same year the Xpeditor began to sell under the Autocar brand. The range included version WX with a regular cab and WXLL with a wide cab and low floor. In 2000, Volvo sells Autocar to Grand Vehicle Works together with the Xpeditor. Since 2000 the Xpeditor continues to exist but only as Autocar, and it was renamed ACX Xpeditor in 2011. It seems to be made only on the WX-64 basis, and Autocar's website apparently no longer propose the WX nor the WXLL models.
