IVECO » EuroCargo '16

In September 2015 Iveco has shown its renewed EuroCargo truck. First thing to notice is the cabins design, which is strictly corporative. Meanwhile the cabin has a big black smiley face, represented by air intake, and this distinctive smile switches our attention to companys logo.

The bumper now has a special ladder, which leads to the windshield and its also equipped with AEBS. Brand new headlights now have good looking daylight LED strips. The new truck has a much better aerodynamics, which is achieved by deflector modifications.

As for the interior, it remains pretty much the same. Speaking of new features we can add that the steering wheel now has light, multimedia and cell phone control system. Its also equipped with a better airbag.

Besides AEBS, which is good for avoiding car accidents by reducing the speed up to 10 km/h, there is also a stability control system and a lane departure warning system. Active cruise control will be a good friend for drivers.

Thanks to the brand new Hi-SCR system, the engine is ecologically approved, and it has been rated Euro VI. A good bonus is that Hi-SCR system weighs much less, than its competitive EGR+SCR. The new system injects clean air into cylinders, so that the combustion process could be more effective and more eco-friendly.

The new Iveco EuroCargo is now equipped with 4.5L Tector 5 and 6.7L Tector 7 engines, which are correspondingly good for 160 and 190hp. Thanks to new pistons, injectors and turbochargers, the torque is now increased by 8% (680Nm and 700Nm) and the engine now has compression ratio of 18:1. The truck now supports power-generating sets up to 320hp. As for transmission, trucks may be equipped either with 6- or 9-speed manual gearbox or with a 6- or 12-speed automatic gearbox with torque converters.
