In 1965, DAF introduced its 1st 3-axle all-wheel drive tipper chassis AZ 1900. These versions had wheel arches covers with steps as V1600, while the headlights was moved to the front steel bumper.
Two military cranes Austin Western M62 on a chassis of DAF AZ 1900 were made for the Allied Air Forces Central Europe (AAFCE).
