KamAZ » 4326 with a hood
"Kamaz-Master" racing team introduces a new truck for the rally-raids. Unlike other racing "KAMAZ" trucks the new one has a bonnet layout. The main advantage of the bonnetted truck is better weight distribution. As a result, the car is much easier to drive and it becomes a little more comfortable. KamAZ took for the base of the new truck which doesn't have their own name yet an all-wheel drive chassis from previous race cabover truck KAMAZ-4326.
Since KamAZ does not release bonneted trucks, the cab and the hood were borrowed from the Mercedes-Benz Zetros truck. It looks impressive, but now it does not look like the usual KAMAZ, and this fact is not very good for promotion of mass production made by KamAZ plant.
It was necessary to replace the power unit: a former Liebherr V8 engine just did not fit under the cab, so now it is equipped with a straight-six diesel Caterpillar, tuned by the Czech racing team Buggyra. This engine has a capacity of 12.5 liters and develops up to 980 hp.
