"AvtoKrAZ" begins testing of a new multi-purpose 8x8 chassis with cabover layout. KrAZ-7634NE will be the basis for installing construction and special equipment. The new chassis might be able to use as a basis for future missile system being developed now in the interests of the Ukrainian armed forces. It is known that the chassis will receive JAMZ-7511 400 hp engine. 7634NE can also be used as a crane chassis.

At the beginning of 2019, KrAZ 7634NE chassis began to be supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is intended for the installation of rocket missile systems. That is, the new chassis should replace the outdated Soviet ZIL-135 and MAZ-537. Moreover, the version for the military is slightly different from the previously presented pre-production prototypes. According to the request of the Ukrainian military, the designers installed round-section tanks instead of rectangular tanks on the prototypes. The volume of each tank is 165 liters (the prototypes were fitted with two 350 liters tanks). The exhaust system was placed to the right side between the first and second axles.
