Renault » C Heavy
Renault Trucks has introduced an entirely new selection of vehicles designed for construction work and offering two distinct ranges: the C Construction range and the K Heavy Construction range. This results in the Renault Trucks C range, available in two cab widths, focusing on high payload, low fuel consumption and comfort on a par with that of a long-distance vehicle. The Renault Trucks K range sets new standards in terms of ruggedness and obstacle clearance capacity as well as featuring the best approach angle on the market.
The cab is one of the most striking features offered by these new construction vehicle ranges, since it is more spacious, more comfortable and more ergonomic with its use of rotating buttons. A step on the side has also been incorporated into the design, allowing drivers to easily check the load. The vehicles offer failsafe ruggedness with reinforced protection for all exposed parts liable to suffer impacts and the all-steel bumper which is available on the C and K ranges. These new vehicles have outstanding technical capacities, with excellent ground clearance, a 120 tonne Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCW) and the best approach angle on the market (32°) for the K range.
With its optimised curb weight, the Renault Trucks C range offers an outstanding payload which can be as much as 22.8 tonne for an 8x4. The Renault Trucks K range offers a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of up to 50 tonne and a Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCW) of as much as 120 tonne. This rugged build also characterises the vehicle's exterior: the K range features an all-steel, three-part bumper, fitted to a 25 tonne capacity front towing bar, protective grids for the headlights and optics in polycarbonate for the greatest impact resistance, as well as steel protection for all exposed parts. Vehicles in the C range are fitted with steel corners and protective grids for the headlights. Capable of taking the heaviest punishment and with a higher approach angle, the C 2.5 m cab off-road can be fitted with all-steel bumpers from the K range.
Renault Trucks used its Euro 5 engine blocks as the basis for developing the new Euro 6 DTI 11 and DTI 13 engines and also decided to optimise SCR technology. The original blocks, already well-known for their efficiency and low fuel consumption, underwent major modification, involving over 50% of their design. The SCR system was revised and made more efficient. The use of new materials in its manufacture improved catalytic reduction performance and efficiently reduced the NOx emissions. It has now also been fitted with a particulate filter. DTI 13 engines are available with 3 power ratings: 440, 480 and 520 hp. DTI 11 engines also are available with 3 power ratings: 380, 430 and 460 hp. You can offer DTI 8 engines with an output of 250, 280 and 320 hp.
Four types of cabs are available on the Renault Trucks C range: Day Cab: short cab, standard roof, without bunk; Night & Day Cab: deep cab, standard roof, with bunk; Sleeper Cab: deep cab, high roof, with bunk; Global Cab: intermediary cab, available for the Renault Trucks C 2.3 metre cab. Two types of cab are available on the Renault Trucks K range: Day Cab: short cab, standard roof; Night & Day Cab: deep cab, standard roof, with bunk. Renault Trucks has a comprehensive offering of front chassis suspension systems, from 7.5 tonnes to 9 tonnes and from 8 to 9 tonnes for the K range. To guarantee a high level of reliability, the C range is fitted with parabolic rear suspension with a 13 to 26 tonnes capacity. The K range is fitted with parabolic and semi-elliptical rear suspensions capable of supporting a load of from 13 to 32 tonnes.
