In 1930, Autocar introduced the Autocar Rangers: "Low-hung... High-powered... Long-lived... Precision-built to give complete satisfaction on any kind of long-distance or short-haul heavy-duty work." Initially, the Autocar Ranger lineup included six models in rated capacities up to 5 tons: the TEA, TEB, TEC, TFA, TFB and TFC. Key components according to Autocar included the "low-hung' 9-inch frame, "triple range of transmissions" with 12 forward speeds, standard equipment pneumatic tires, and the 90 hp 6-cylinder Autocar Blue Streak Engine.
The same year Autocar expanded its lineup with the introduction of six-wheelers: the 195-inch wheelbase Model G, the 211-inch wheelbase Model GA, and the 237-inch wheelbase Model GB. Westinghouse internally expanding air brakes were on six wheels. Autocar equipped all three models with the 101-horsepower Blue Streak Engine.
In 1931, to provide more rating graduation between models Autocar introduced a new six-cylinder 94 hp 3.5-ton series N with wheelbases from 174 to 222 in (additional letters from A to D). The whole N range consisted of model N (4 tons, 191-227 in. wheelbase), NE (5 tons, 149-170 in. wheelbase), NF (5 tons, 191-227 in. wheelbase), and NH (5 tons, 149-170 in. wheelbase, 101 hp engine).
The Autocar introduced the Model R series in 1931, during the depth of the Great Depression. This range with light 6-cylinder 75 hp engine included models R (1.5 tons, 159-189 in. wheelbase), RF (2 tons, 159-189 in. wheelbase), and RG (2.5 tons, 159-210 in. wheelbase). Another range presented in 1931 was the 3 to 4 tons D range. The following models were entered this range: D (3 tons, 150-192 in. wheelbase), DE (3.5 tons, 150-210 in. wheelbase), DF (3.5 tons, 150-192 in. wheelbase), DH (4 tons, 150-174 in. wheelbase). All of them were equipped with 84 hp version of Autocar 6-cylinder Blue Streak Engine.
The heavy Autocar ranges were S and T. The S range included models S (5 tons, 158-168 in. wheelbase, 94 hp) and SE (6 tons, 158-168 in. wheelbase, 101 hp). The T range consisted of model T (7.5 tons, 192-242 in. wheelbase, 101 hp), TE (8.5 tons, 189-207 in. wheelbase, 101 hp), and TF (8.5 tons, 195-247 in. wheelbase, 126 hp).
