In 1998 DAF Trucks introduces the redesigned medium to heavyweight distribution and utility vehicles: the 65CF, 75CF and 85CF series. CF means Compact Forte. Externally the trucks haven't changed, but received new or updated engines. 65CF is equipped with an upgraded 6.2-liter diesel engine with a capacity of 180, 212 or 240 hp. For 75CF version was developed a new PF Series engine with working volume of 9.2 liter which produced 250, 290 and 320 hp. The heaviest 85CF is available with 12.6-liter engine from 95XF with a capacity of 340, 381 or 428 hp.
