Also new on the Ford's stand at the Brazilian Fenatran show was a race truck of the factory's team Ford DF Motorsport for the local championship Formula Truck 2012. The new truck is designed in a style of the commercial truck Ford Cargo, presented few months earlier. It is based on the Cargo 9332 model, but virtually all parts and components are new or improved. Thus, power of the 6-cylinder Cummins 9,3 L engine has been increased from 310 to 1170 HP, ground clearance is reduced to 5 cm, and a roll cage and racing seats were added to the cockpit. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is just 6 seconds. Unlike the European Truck Racing Championship, the Brazilian has no speed limit. The maximum speed of the new racing Ford is 235 km/h! These outstanding features are due not only tremendous power of the engine, but the weight loss by almost 2,000 kg. The sport prototype weighs only 4000 kg. Well, in addition to all the changes, the center mounted aluminum tank for 140 liters is installed. Let's hope the new truck will help the company to win the championship in next year.
