Albion » Chieftain CH71

In September 1966 the Chieftain CH71 arrived, which was a 4x4 version of the Chieftain Super Six CH13C with the normal front axle replaced with a steering version of the Albion double reduction axle. The conversion work on the front axle was carried out by Scammell, who also supplied the 2 speed transfer box mounted amidships. The standard Albion 5 or 6 speed gearbox was coupled to a Leyland 0.370 engine and power steering was standard.
