The De Rooy rally racing team has a new sponsor for the next Dakar Rally. The Spanish company Petronas became the main sponsor of the team, and all trucks received strange blue-green color. Iveco also is sponsoring De Rooy officialy. New is that former winner Hans Stacey joined the team, just like rally hero Miki Biassion. For the future rally IVECO and De Rooy have prepared new trucks. The bonneted Iveco Trakker with Strator plastic hood is specialy built for Gerard. He espects to have better comfort for his sore back with the seating position halfway the frame. The weight of the truck is now perfectly balanced between both axles and that is good for nice jumps! After the Tatra, De Rooy became the second team who will use bonneted trucks instead cabover.
