August 17th, the Minsk Automobile Company from Belarus has presented the prototype of an exclusive truck MAZ-6440 with a bonnet layout. Plans to build the first truck with such layout were announced by CEO in December 2010 and now, six months later, the idea became reality. Under a very long hood with the ugly design with strange shapes located diesel engine MMZ D-283.4E4-22, V8, 600 bhp power, which meets the ecological standard Euro-4. It is connected with an automatic transmission Allison 4500R. The maximum length of train (18.45 meters) will not exceed the allowable size of the Republic of Belarus. The vehicle has cruise control, digital tachograph, power sunroof, electric mirrors, climate control with electric shutters, stability system, air conditioning, luxury seats, fridge, and two sleepers. Until the end of this year, this prototype coupled with MAZ 9758 trailer will be tested, after which will be the decision about the mass production.
