CNHTC » Howo A7
In 2009, CNHTC introduced its newest development - the Howo A7 range. It is designed using an entirely new science base and represents a new way to design of trucks. Original external design of the Howo A7 was made by the Italian company ItalDesign Giugiaro, which made a really good job. Howo has a really good construction: there is four-point air suspension of the cabin, disc brakes (first time for Chinese trucks), tubeless tires (also the first time), and most importantly - the first China made commercial semi-automatic gearbox SmartShift-AMT, created in conjunction with WABCO. There is no clutch pedal, and instead of a lever is joystick. Many other components of Howo A7 have well-known names. Power steering is supplied by ZF, filters are Mann-Hummel, the instrument panel and the audio system - VDO, radiator - Behr, pneumatic elements of the rear suspension - Hendriskson, air compressor and brake system - WABCO. Trucks are equipped with local made engines D10 and D12 with common rail injection system with an output from 270 to 460 hp. The cabs are available in 5 variants of cabins - from a short day cab to cabin with a sleeping compartment and a high roof with an internal height of 1930 mm.
