CNHTC » Howo 1st generation
October 28, 2004 was the day when the first truck of a new range Howo got out the factory. This model later became the most popular trucks of the company. The new series has its own official name 'HOWO Heavy Truck 7 Series'. The design of the truck was influenced by agreement between CNHTC and Volvo, signed a year earlier. And though the Howo was a fully Chinese development, it used a number of details from Swedish truck. For example, the cabin's design was based on a medium-duty delivery truck Volvo FL. Probably because of this, as well as "European" design, these trucks have become quite popular on export markets. Chassis are available in 4x2, 6x2, 6x4, 6x6, 8x4 and 10x6 configurations. Cabin could be short day type or extended with a bed compartment and high roof. They could be painted at the factory in red or green. Engines are similar to the old Steyr range and rated from 266 to 420 hp, and meet Euro II or Euro III ecological standards.
