American LaFrance » Type 15 / 19
American LaFrance continued to develop more powerful six-cylinder engines to power pumps of ever increasing capacity. By 1915 the company had introduced two huge, high-capacity pumping engines - Type 15 (1913-1925) and Type 19 (1915-1928). Powered by a 200 horsepower motor, the mighty Type 15 had a rated capacity of 1400 gallons per minute - equal to the largest steam fire engines ever built. Only 15 copies of Type 15 were built. The 150-horsepower Type 19 was rated at 1200 gpm.
