The first prototypes of an armored vehicle on the chassis of the model TPK were completed in 1980. Production of the serial armored vehicle TPK 4.20 VSC began the same year. It used 2.5-ton all-wheel drive chassis TPK with the armored body installed on it. There is a two-piece door for entry and exit of the crew located at the rear. Vehicles manufactured in several versions, with open space in the body, which swarms with roof with sliding roof and bulletproof windows in the rear of the hull, from which you can keep firing. There are versions with an open body and side walls, the collapse of the car for quick departure. Later was presented an updated version VBL with the updated design of armored body. It can carry up to 10 people, including the driver and passenger. Combat weight of the vehicle is 7800 kg and a 5.8 mm armored body provids protection against 7.62 × 51 mm ball small arms fire. These armored vehicles were exported from France etween 1992 through to 2005. There was an armored medical version also.
