In the early 80s a new tractor for heavy tanks hauling RD8266SX (6x6) was presented to work with 52-ton semi-trailer. GCVW could be up to 93 tones. Truck was equipped with a 500-horsepower diesel engine Mack EE9 V8 , 20-speed transmission, 24-inch wheels and had a speed of 79 km/h. Later, modifications on chassis of civilian versions of RD 1st and 2nd generations were produced.
