The new chassis for municipal and construction works was presented in 1978 and originally was a specialized version of the MC model for refuse works. In the future, the area of application of the MR model has been increased. The trucks are equipped with the Mack E(M)6 engines with power of 200-285 hp, and later the Mack EM7 engine with power up to 300 hp with a maximum torque of 1750 rpm. Engines from other manufactures were also available, such as Mack/Scania (210 hp) and Caterpillar (210 hp). Transmission is Allison 5-speed or 6-speed mechanical Mack T2060. There is an electronic display of failures and malfunctions installed inside the cab. A leaf front suspension Mack has a payload of 5443 kg, rear - 12500 kg. An interesting feature: a standard cabin equipment includes a microwave oven and defrostator. In 2007, the truck was redesigned and became known as TerraPro Cabover.
