Achleitner » PMV Survivor II 4x4
Along with the light-duty versions PMV Survivor I, created on the base of Toyota Land Cruiser or Mercedes Benz G-class, an improved and heavier 10-ton model PMV Survivor II is produced. The abbreviation PMV is deciphered as Protected Mission Vehicle. The armored truck is made for the work under extreme conditions and has the protection against the explosion on a mine. AFV (armored fighting vehicle) is meant for personnel transportation and delivery of health care to wounded men. It can be equipped with a remotely controlled combat module. According to the basic parameters Survivor II PMV corresponds to analogue armored machines of the type MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected). At the same time its bottom construction does not have a specific for them V-shaped form, which is used to redistribute the blast wave energy away from the crew, though it impacts negatively on the vehicle steadiness. According to the words of the Austrian development engineers, they managed to provide a comparable mine protection level with the help of other technologies. The engine MAN of 280 hp power, corresponding to Euro 3 or Euro 4, is mounted on the vehicle. The toque is 1100 Nm. The high speed reaches 100 km/hour. The load capacity is 3800 kg.
