In parallel with the Roman branded trucks Brasov plant produced its copies with diesel engines of its own design, which received brand name DAC. Externally, with the exception of other logos, they were an exact copy of the Roman trucks, which in turn were an exact copy of the German MAN F8. In the early 80s, the company developed their own diesel engines rated at 240, 280 and 320 hp, went beyond the scope of the license agreement and marked with an additional letter "R" - "Romanian".
