In 1970, the company presented its new heavy duty Series 90. The range included short conventional with BBC=92", and long conventional models with bumper-to-back-of-cab dimension was 115". The long hood design offered the number of advantages. There was ample room for big Detroit Diesel 8V-71 rated at 318 hp; or Cummins NTC-350 and V903. The entire hood and both front fenders tilt forward as a unit to expose engine and radiator. Long conventional models were available only with tandem-rear-axle with a GVW of 50,000 lbs, and GCW - up to 76,800 lbs. Wheelbases were from 146 to 235".
