На выставке DefExpo 2014 в Индии Ashok Leyland показал новый среднетоннажный военный грузовик Garuda, который предлагается с колесными формулами 4х2 и 4х4. В движение Garuda приводится рядным 4-цилиндровым дизельным двигателем мощностью 118 л.с. и крутящим моментом 320 Нм, который сочетается с 5-ступенчатой механической коробкой передач. Ashok Leyland Garuda оснащается новейшей дневной кабиной. Кондиционер и камера заднего вида доступны в качестве опций.

Garuda 4х4 может использоваться как грузовик для перевозки военнослужащих, автомобиль слежения или моторизованная пушка. Длина Garuda составляет 5480 мм, ширина - 2000 мм и высота - 2460 мм. Колесная база 3300 мм, дорожный просвет - 250 мм благордаря 16-дюймовым внедорожным колесам. Грузовик оснащается гидроусилителем рулевого управления и гидравлическими тормозами. Максимальная скорость полноприводного варианта достигает 100 км/ч, и он может взбираться на 20-градусный подъем.
