Amertek

Amertek

Successor to the failed King-Seagrave Ltd, Amertek was an offshoot of Belgium Standard Ltd., a builder of special-purpose truck and refuse bodies located in Waterloo, Ontario. At the time King-Seagrave Ltd. went out of business in early 1985, the company had been awarded a large contract to build custom 4x4 firefighting vehicle for the U.S. military. Belgium Standard took over this contract and set up a new division called Amertek, Inc. in the former King-Seagrave fire apparatus plant in Woodstock, Ontario. Nearly 500 of fire apparatus were built by company for the U.S. military. Amertek declared bankruptcy in late 1993.
