Mercedes-Benz E-Truck Is A Design Study From The Future

Mercedes-Benz E-Truck Is A Design Study From The Future

If you've never thought about how a purely utilitarian yet futuristic truck might look like, this hypothetical E-truck concept should shine a bright spotlight on the matter. Drawn up by Francisco Calado, this E-truck is supposed to be a "well-planned compressed liquids transporter" that's also the most efficient and fastest truck on the planet.

Theoretically, it would be powered by 10 cylindrical batteries, which means that it's fully electric. According to its designer, it can also reach very high speeds thanks to its low drag coefficient and is also very effective against side winds.

Inside, it features a dual compartment cabin and, since it's built for long journeys, also includes a bathroom and a separate room so you can rest up. Overall, by the looks of it, we're dealing with a pretty large vehicle. In fact, it might be taller than most trucks today. Also, if you're wondering how on earth you get inside the cabin, since there are no side doors, the answer is through that compartment up front.

This is how a bonneted Scania R-series might be look like

Now here is an interesting illustration! The new Scania R- cab with a bonnet. That makes the new Scania T- model, but off course this is not official. A lot of Scania fans would love to see this in production but a long time ago Scania kissed the T- models goodbye. The market for these trucks is simply not big enough and even in Latin America they move to cab-over-engine models. The only big market for bonnetted trucks is in the USA but there they need completely different trucks. That makes this an interesting picture of a realy talented photoshop artist. Still chances are good that we are going to see these models on the road. Just like with the present model some truck conversion companys rebuild Scania trucks into whatever the customer wants it to be.

Ural continues developing a new range: here is a dump truck

Ural truck factory continues testing of different versions of a new range with a cabover layoute. Photographers made the first photos of a 6-wheel dump truck during factory tests. According to the photos, we can say that the new model is equipped with a Chinese made cabin and front undriven axle. There are no other details. We think that the new model could receive YAMZ 536 engine rated at 240-330 hp, a new YAMZ transmission and a new styling for Chinese cab.
